After 2.5 years in Southern France, learning how to farm and make wines at Domaine Mamaruta, Coral abruptly packed away her life’s dream in the summer of 2020, and returned home to the US. A pandemic pitstop at her family home in NJ and a year later, hands and boots ready, she arrived in Sonoma. Not knowing a single soul, yet with wide eyes, she envisioned finding the same life in wine and culture that she’d embraced in France. But it didn’t take long to feel like a foreigner all over again. And more importantly, she didn’t want to budge on her values - how wine should be grown and made, and how wine should be shared with the community.
So, at the eleventh hour, just shortly after arriving, and while harvest had already kicked off,
she decided she’d have to build it herself… and Maison des Plaisances was born.
